Enjoying a holiday in Lanzarote is a great way to get away from all of the worries of your life. If you can imagine what the perfect relaxing or romantic getaway might be, you are likely to picture something like Lanzarote. Here are some great reasons why you would love a ‘get away’ to this island.

There are a number of beaches that are famous for their cool water and white sand. El Caletón Blanco or ‘The Big Inlet’ is famous as a camping site, where you can enjoy a quiet night in a tent with your family close to the sea. You could also visit Caleta Caballo, which is the perfect beach for windsurfing. Not only are the beaches covered in white sand, but the water is cooled by the incoming Trade Winds, making them a great temperature to ‘cool’ you off and give you a break from the hot sun.

Lanzarote restaurantYou might also find Puerto del Carmen quite exciting. It is an area known as Avenida de Las Playas, you will find hundreds of bars, restaurants and dance clubs. There is a thrilling nightlife that you can enjoy in clubs like the Discoteca RUMM, full of the hottest Latino dance music. If you think that you would enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere, you can head to Café Ola for a quieter experience.

There is also a wonderful and rich environment to enjoy. If you are a nature enthusiast, you may be excited to see the west side of the island that was formed by lava flowing from a volcano – creating astonishing rock formations. While the east side of the island is tropical and full of all kinds of exotic plants and animals.

There is barely ever a dull moment for anyone enjoying their Lanzarote holiday break. Start planning in advance when you do decide to go, to be sure that you can enjoy all that the island has to offer.

Travel Tip
One of the most economical ways to enjoy a trip to Lanzarote is to go self catering, particularly for families and groups. There are plenty of good quality Lanzarote villas and apartments for rent across the island.
